FM electrospindles
FM is part of the Umbra Group based at the group headquarters in Foligno, Italy.
FM products benefit from the extensive engineering and manufacturing experience of the successful Umbra Aerospace and Industrial Divisions, especially in the use of high technology solutions, special bearings and corrosion resistant materials.
FM Electrospindles have evolved from a wealth of knowledge and experience from within the Umbra Group resulting in purposed designed accessories to enhance any CNC machining capability from wood and aluminium to glass and marble.
Externally and internally FM have used carefully selected components to ensure long life, reliability and high tech performance.

The FM Electrospindle Product Range.
The COMPACT 115 LC has options of long or short nose and two speeds according to the bearing type. This model is suited to high speed machining of resins, plastics and wood.
The EVOLUTION 150 SC, LC and LC-HS range offers a choice of Self Cooled, where the high capacity electric motor enables low current consumption at maximum power and Liquid Cooling. This range is suited to high speed machining of hard woods, aluminium, plastics and composites. The High Speed version draws constant power from 12,000 to 30,000 rpm.
The EVOLUTION 165 LC is Liquid Cooled offering two speeds, both speeds consuming only 8 kW. It’s equipped by the passage of cooling liquid for the tool along the shaft. The exposed components of the Electrospindle are designed and manufactured from corrosion resistant steel in order to withstand the aggressive environment generated in the machining of glass, marble and ceramics.
The EVOLUTION 210 LC is Liquid Cooled via the interface taper, where two interfaces are available along with three speed options. This model also it’s equipped by the passage of cooling liquid for the tool along the shaft and it has corrosion resistant external components like the EVOLUTION 165 LC.
Key Component Characteristics
All models in the range contain high tech bearings with optimised pre-load.
The automatic tool change system has been developed to achieve a life in excess of 2,000,000 cycles.
The sensors are reliable and robust thanks to their dimensions and can be regulated without dismantling the Electrospindle.
The COMPACT 115 LC and EVOLUTION LC/SC/LCHS all have double piston cylinders.
Service and Support.
A comprehensive service and support centre is provided at FM Foligno where product training and maintenance services are available according to specific customer requirements.
